What are we doing in the last year of the grant cycle?
- As we enter the final year of the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities grant cycle (2021-2026), we want to support the work you are doing in your schools and district so you can sustain these important efforts beyond the life of the grant.
- Please include us in any monthly Wellness Committee meetings or district-wide wellness efforts!

2025 CHSC Convening
This September, three of our staff members attended the Creating Healthy Schools and Communities Convening for grantees in Kingston, NY. This two-day convening provided our staff the opportunity to discuss program sustainability and data from our work, as well as network with other CHSC grantees to share knowledge and ideas. We also toured local community sites where CHSC strategies are being implemented.
Save the Date!
Save the date for the annual School Wellness Conference on February 25 & 26, 2026 from 8:30AM - 3:30PM at the Erie 1 BOCES Education Campus, 355 Harlem Rd., West Seneca, NY 14224. This two-day conference is dedicated to advancing school wellness in Western New York. This event will feature a diverse range of presentations including a keynote speaker, networking opportunities, healthy lunch, and an award ceremony for CHSC grantee districts. This conference will provide CTLE credits.
Registration fee will be waived for CHSC grantee districts, which includes:
- Cheektowaga Central CSD
- Cheektowaga-Sloan UFSD
- Maryvale UFSD
- Lackawanna CSD
- Randolph CSD
- Salamanca CSD
- Springville-Griffith Institute
- West Valley CSD

Join our CHSC School Wellness Networking Meetings
We are looking for 1-2 Wellness Committee Leads from each CHSC school to attend our School Wellness Networking Meetings.
This is a great informal opportunity for leaders from CHSC schools to learn and share from each other.
Our meetings will be held via Zoom from 2pm-3:30pm on the following Thursdays:
- October 16, 2025
- January 8, 2026
- April 9, 2026.
