Immigration in Elementary Schools

This professional development from CUNY-IIE supports WNY educators in developing stronger relationships with immigrant students and families and collaborating with community-based partners to understand and advocate for their needs. The module also focuses on using children¢s literature to discuss current immigration issues in a developmentally appropriate way.

Educators will earn a total of fifteen (15) CTLE credits upon successful completion of the module.

The deadline for registration is Wednesday, February 7, 2024.

Multilingual Literacy SIFE Screener 

On March 25, 2024 the Multilingual Literacy SIFE Screener (MLS) Portal website will get a new look, and new login system! 

There will be training sessions in April 2024 for new users who want to learn about the MLS and for experienced users who want to walk through the new interface together and ask any questions about MLS implementation.

NYSABE Annual Conference

The New York State Association for Bilingual Education (NYSABE) 46th annual conference will be held for the first time in Syracuse, NY on April 4-6 2024, at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown Hotel.

This year¢s conference theme is Empowering Multilingual  Student Voices to Advocate for  their Right to Bilingual  Education.
